Temperature Monitoring Accuracy Verification Service
Temp Assure provides continuous temperature monitoring and real-time alerts as standard.
For organisations requiring documented confirmation of measurement accuracy, our Temperature Monitoring Accuracy Verification & Offset Correction Service delivers a structured, statistically controlled validation process. Temp Assure send the reference transmitter in an enclosure to site. All you need to do is place your on-site transmitter inside the enclosure and place the enclosure in the fridge. Then follow a simple guide to initiate the testing process. Once it is completed, the results are available for download. The tested transmitter is then returned to service and the reference is packed and returned to Temp Assure.
This service verifies that your installed transmitter is reading within specification — and applies controlled correction where required.
What This Service Verifies
This is an in-situ measurement accuracy verification, not a multi-day equipment performance study.
It confirms:
- Your installed transmitter is aligned to a calibrated reference unit
- No significant sensor drift has developed
- The system remains within ±0.1°C of the reference standard
- Any detected offset was minimal and has been corrected
Continuous monitoring protects operations.
This service verifies measurement alignment.
Controlled Comparison Environment
The reference transmitter is supplied in a food-safe sealed comparison enclosure.
Inside the enclosure the calibrated reference transmitter and a receptacle for your installed transmitter are positioned side-by-side within the same controlled thermal space.
The sealed enclosure is designed to:
- Slow any temperature fluctuations
- Minimise air currents
- Eliminate turbulence
- Improve thermal equilibrium
- Produce stable, statistically robust comparison data
This controlled environment ensures both sensors are exposed to the same thermal mass and micro-environment during testing.
How the Verification Process Works
1️⃣ Reference Unit Deployment
A calibrated reference transmitter is dispatched in a sealed comparison enclosure.
2️⃣ Co-Location
Your transmitter is placed inside the enclosure alongside the reference unit.
3️⃣ Stabilisation
After thermal equilibrium is reached, a minimum 3-hour comparison window is recorded. The fridge is not to be opened during this phase which must be carried out between defrost cycles if the refrigeration equipment defrosts automatically.
4️⃣ Statistical Analysis
Three consecutive 60-minute averaged windows are analysed to remove transient noise and compressor cycling artefacts.
5️⃣ Offset Correction
Where required, a controlled offset adjustment is applied so the installed transmitter reads within ±0.1°C of the calibrated reference.
6️⃣ Documentation
A validation summary is issued including:
- Reference transmitter ID
- Installed transmitter ID
- Pre-adjustment mean offset
- Post-adjustment alignment
-
Timestamp of correction
Service fee: $99 + return freight
Why a 3-Hour Window Is Sufficient
Because both transmitters are co-located within a sealed, stabilised enclosure:
-
Fixed offsets are immediately detectable
-
Airflow and turbulence effects are minimised
-
Statistical averaging produces high-confidence results
-
Multi-day deployment is not required for accuracy verification
This method provides controlled and repeatable alignment confirmation.
Example: 3-Hour Accuracy Verification
Stabilised Window: 02:00–05:00
| Hour | Reference Avg (°C) | Installed Avg (°C) | Error (°C) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 02:00 | 24.56 | 24.50 | -0.06 |
| 03:00 | 24.33 | 24.27 | -0.06 |
| 04:00 | 24.08 | 24.07 | -0.01 |
Mean Offset Across Window: -0.04°C
Standard Deviation: <0.1°C
Offset correction applied.
Post-adjustment alignment confirmed within ±0.1°C.
Continuous Monitoring Remains the Primary Safeguard
Temp Assure continuously logs temperature data.
At any time, you can generate:
- 7-day performance summaries
- Custom date-range reports
- 10-minute interval compliance reports

Compliance Context
Most regulatory frameworks require effective temperature monitoring and record retention. They typically do not prescribe fixed annual laboratory recertification intervals for digital monitoring systems.
Temp Assure includes one verification check every 3 years within your standard subscription. Additional accuracy verification checks are available on request.
FAQ
Does the enclosure improve accuracy?
Yes. The sealed comparison enclosure minimises airflow disturbances and heavily attenuates short-term thermal spikes, ensuring both transmitters experience the same controlled environment during testing.
Is this a laboratory calibration certificate?
This service provides documented in-situ accuracy verification using a calibrated reference transmitter. Accredited laboratory calibration options are available separately if required.
How long does the process take?
The stabilised comparison window is typically completed within one business day.
